It’s that time of year: We are ready once again to be wowed by the photographic talent of Bellarmine Magazine readers.
This year’s photo contest has four categories under two broad themes: Places (Domestic and International) and Faces (Human and Otherwise).
The Bellarmine Magazine Photo Contest is open to amateur photographers and readers of Bellarmine Magazine who are 18 years of age or older. For purposes of this contest, an “amateur” is a person who doesn’t derive the largest portion of his or her income from the sale of photographs.
Each entrant may submit one photo in each of the four categories: Places (Domestic and International); Faces (Human and Otherwise).
Photos may be black-and-white or color, but they must be submitted electronically. Each must be an authentic, original photograph taken by the entrant, for which he or she owns the copyright. Photos must be at least 1 megabyte (1 MB) but not exceed 3 megabytes (3 MB).
Photographs will be judged on originality, composition and technical execution by a panel of professional photographers and members of the Bellarmine Magazine staff.
Judges will select first-, second- and third-place finishers in each category (where applicable) and may select honorable mention(s) at their discretion. First-place winners in each category will receive $100; other top finishers will receive fabulous merchandise from our prize closet.
Photographs will be featured in the Fall 2017 issue of Bellarmine Magazine and on the magazine’s website, www.bellarminemagazine.com.
Bellarmine retains the right to publish any submitted photograph in Bellarmine Magazine, on the Bellarmine University website and in other Bellarmine publications.
The contest ends at 11:59 p.m. June 2, 2017.
