Read the great article in the last issue of Bellarmine Magazine and was glad to see the
off-campus clubs getting some recognition. But you forgot the “Rooters,” which existed from 1965 to 1970.
We won the intramural basketball league and competed in all the other sports. Our list of members consisted of myself, Greg Howard ’69 (now Dr. Howard), and brother (Lowell??), Frank Klein ’70, Gary Etienne, Lynn Etienne, Tom Ackerman ’69, Tom Grey, Joe Karem, Tom Weber ’69 and Phil Pogue.
We had a carriage house on Eastern Parkway and a cottage next to the liquor store on Barrett.

Writer Harry Rothgerber ’69 responds: I interviewed about 40 people for the article, and absolutely no one mentioned that name! I’ve since mentioned the Rooters to several Bellarmine grads who said they remembered it well, especially the house on Eastern Parkway.
